4) Volunteers Needed to join the Team at the Glencoe Folk Museum

Your Museum Needs You!

We are looking for volunteers to join our friendly team at Glencoe Folk Museum, and have a range of fantastic opportunities!

If you love the history of the local area and want to share your knowledge and enthusiasm with others, then you would be perfect in a Front-of-House position, meeting and greeting museum visitors. This is a great chance to meet people from all over the world and help make their visit to Glencoe a memorable one.

If you would rather take a more hands-on role at the museum, we also have opportunities to join our Collections Team, where you can get up-close with our objects by photographing and cataloguing items – you never know what you might find!

Volunteers are integral to the continued running and development of our museum. Since opening our doors 50 years ago, we have involved volunteers in every aspect of museum life, including manning the front desk, collections audits, exhibition work, events, craft demonstrations, day-to-day housekeeping and research. If you have a particular skill that you would like to put to good use – photography, storytelling, crafts, music – then get in touch, and we will do our best to find a position for you on our team. Volunteering with us is a great way to expand your horizons, whether it be socially by meeting lots of new and different people every day, or professionally, by developing new skills and gaining invaluable museum experience.
