Hello from Discover Glencoe Marketing Group,
Residents and businesses here remain concerned for continuing health and safety within our local communities, and so Discover Glencoe has compiled a ‘Visitors Charter’ in response.
We hope it will provide a reminder to people who may not know – or may have forgotten – the publicly available Scottish guidelines for Covid-19 containment to keep all of us safe and well.

We are delighted to share this with you.
Thank you,
Martina Preece, Chair
For and on behalf of Discover Glencoe Committee and Membership

Visitor Charter

Our Glencoe and Loch Leven community welcomes all visitors with true Highland hospitality but this year we must do so in a way that abides by Scottish Government directives to safeguard the health and safety of all – residents and visitors alike.

This is a rural community with limited health care facilities, and the rules here may be different from those areas you have travelled from. Our Visitor Charter (below) is for you, our member businesses and our communities to mitigate risks and keep everybody as safe as possible. Please take a moment to read it; we welcome you to our beautiful area and hope everyone will play their part to protect each another – wherever we are.

Our community asks that all Visitors please:

  • Cancel your booking as soon as possible if you are feeling at all unwell or self-declare (for accommodation) that you are free from Covid-19 symptoms 24 hours before your arrival.
  • Respect and observe the changes that the Tourism Business you are visiting has had to put in place in order to protect you, their staff, future visitors, and themselves.
  • Consider bringing food and supplies with you (if self-catering) to avoid adding to our queues; some local shops may be able to deliver an order to you.
  • Wash your hands regularly, carry and maintain regular use of sanitiser.
  • Observe cough etiquette, physical distancing and face covering rules.
  • Avoid busy shops/cafes/restaurants – come back later or consider take-aways.
  • Book restaurants and activities in advance to avoid queues.
  • Pay contactless where possible.
  • Spend time outside enjoying the scenery. Please ‘know the code’, take your litter away with you, and sanitise your hands before and after using gates outdoors.
  • Advise the Tourism Business immediately if you or your family show symptoms of Covid-19 either during or up to 14 days after your visit.

Our member Businesses promise to:

  • Follow Scottish Government Covid-19 Guidelines on Health and Safety for all.
  • Provide copy of risk assessment and cleaning / sanitising protocols as required.
  • Limit the numbers in each unit / outlet where applicable, observe social distancing, hand washing / sanitising and mask / face covering / PPE rules.
  • Advise Visitors should there be a Covid outbreak within the establishment during their stay.

Thank you for reading our Visitor Charter – if you have any queries regarding it, please contact us.
