Accommodation

Every type of accommodation is available to welcome guests throughout the area. Activities and Attractions

Activites and attractions are opening when regulations allow and they feel it’s safe for them to welcome visitors back. Booking is essential for most and check what safety measures are required. Maybe try ‘slow travel’, visit fewer locations and really get to know the area, by foot, bike or paddle.

The landscape here is something we can all enjoy differently. If you’re venturing out on land or sea, whether you are mountain biking, cycling, walking, wild swimming, paddling, etc – please stay within your comfort zone for now. That’s just to avoid calling out our Mountain Rescue Team or Emergency Services at this time. It’s never the plan to call them, but they’re asking people to be reasonable and stay safe to keep them safe from Covid-19. Check the Scottish advice groups for each interest area if you are in any doubt.

Shops and Services

From retail therapy to the groceries for your self catering accommodation, all the options are here. Remember face coverings are required to be worn in all shops, some one-way systems are inplace and increased hand hygiene is available at most outlets. Other options are available at hotels and attractions – for example, Glencoe Folk Museum, Glencoe Café and Loch Leven Hotel all have wee shops, as do others. Opening hours do vary for some, please check before travelling.

Open now: Crafts & Things, CrankitupGear (bike sales/repair), Holroyd Gallery, Kinlochlaich Garden Centre, Loch Leven Seafood Deli, Cook & Gift Shop, The Quarry Centre, Tools & Tackle. The fuel stops and grocery stores in the area are open also.

Food and Drink

We are fortunate with the availability of dining in the area. There are outdoor and indoor options, but it’s best to book. Options for take away and chef prepared meal-kits are also available from some outlets. The best scones are still available here. Great coffee, soup and seafood too. Most of our favourite lunch spots have opened or will open soon. Social distancing may mean there’s limited seating, please be patient or enjoy take away.

Open now: Bulas Bar & Bistro, Clachaig Inn, Crafts & Things, Glencoe Café, Glencoe Mountain Resort Café, Hollytree Seafood Restaurant & Grill, Kingshouse Hotel, Loch Leven Hotel, Loch Leven Seafood Café (light dishes to eat outdoors or take-away, chef prepared meal-kits – no restaurant service until 2021), Lochside Restaurant, The Bothy Bar & Purple Stag Restaurant, The Quarry Centre,

During August we have a number of members participating the in the Eat Out to Help Out scheme, these include: Ballachulish Hotel, Clachaig Inn, Crafts & Things Coffee Shop, Creag Mhor Lodge, Hollytree Hotel, Isles of Glencoe Hotel, Kingshouse Hotel, and the Loch Leven Hotel.
