Glencoe (night swim) – Highland Open Water Swim

Starts
Sat 10th Oct 20
Ends
Sat 10th Oct 20
At
Car park by Isles of Glencoe Hotel, Ballachulish

Last year, this swim was so popular we decided to come back again! It’s not a long or a difficult swim, but doing it in the dark adds something special. Every swimmer wears a yellow glow stick, which certainly makes for great pictures in the dark.

This is a relatively short swim, and even run in the dark, it would be perfect for beginners. The swim starts a short walk from the registration point in the Glencoe Car Park and then swimmers swim back to the car park. Swimmers stay close to the shore, so not much to worry about tides. All swimmers must wear a yellow glow stick attached either to themselves or to the tow-float. This ensures our safety team can easily sport all swimmers. Likewise, kayaks and boats will have a white light, so that swimmers can find them in case they need assistance. In addition, there will be several lights on the shore along the trajectory followed by the swimmers to ensure nobody gets disorientated.

There is no minimum age for this swim, but swimmers under 16 must have a parent present. Also, we welcome swimmers with disabilities – please contact Alex on [email protected] to discuss your needs.
