Scenic Drive – Glencoe to Kinlochleven Circular Route

Scenic Drives

Starting at the Glencoe cross roads, the left fork on the B863 takes you round the loch (Loch Leven) and back across Ballachulish Bridge to Glencoe village.  This 20 mile circuit is a short drive, but takes in striking panoramas of the loch, views over Eilean Munde the burial island and waterfalls. On the south side of the Loch, there is a parking area high on the mountain side, which makes for a great spot for that stunning photo. At Kinlochleven, in addition to plenty of accommodation, there are shops, cafes, and visitor attractions such as the impressive and worlds largest indoor ice climbing wall at the Ice Factor. You can also check out the Grey Mares Tail waterfall – just a short walk from the village.

It is through Kinlochleven that the long distance footpath, the West Highland way passes, after coming over the mountains from Rannoch Moor, on it’s way to Fort William.

On the North side of the Loch, the Lochleven Seafood Cafe and Shop offers up some of the freshest seafood you can find in the whole of Scotland.

Continue on around the Loch until you come to the road end, where you can turn left to take you over the Ballachulish Bridge and back to Glencoe.
