Glencoe Independent Hostel and self catering accommodation, owned and run by outdoor enthusiasts Keith & Davina Melton, is set in its own grounds at the foot of historic & dramatic Glencoe with breathtaking views in every direction.  We’re perfectly located for those seeking accommodation on a budget and who want to explore the west coast of the Scottish Highlands.  Glencoe really is one of the most iconic and memorable places you’ll visit in Scotland and whilst you are here you can explore the mountains, glens, forests and waterfalls – it’s a wonderful playground for those who love the great outdoors!  You’ll most likely come across some wildlife during your stay too; we often see roe and red deer in the grounds as well as pine martens, buzzards and many other birds.

The accommodation at Glencoe Independent Hostel comprises our Hostel, Alpine Bunkhouse, four luxury (Gold) private, pet friendly Static Caravans, 1 brand new ‘platinum’ caravan and our Log Cabin.  We can cater for individual travelers and large groups alike with private and family rooms available throughout.  Whichever you choose, you can expect a friendly welcome at any time of the year.

There’s plenty to see and do in the local area too, with Glencoe Village just 1 ¼ miles away:

·          The area is renowned for it’s top class high and low level walking, kayaking. climbing, scrambling and cycling.  The worlds largest indoor ice climbing wall is only 20 minutes drive away at the Ice Factor in Kinlochleven.

·          The world famous Clachaig Inn is just 20 minutes walk away and offers live music weekends with real ales, beers, spirits and an extensive selection of whisky, it also provides good food.

·          Glencoe Mountain Resort – skiing & boarding in the winter and mountain sports in the summer such as walking, climbing, downhill and cross country mountain biking & archery.  We’re just 20 minutes drive away, and only 40 minutes from Nevis Range in Fort William.
